What this product is
Hold'em Pitboss is a record-keeping tool for private home poker games. We do not process, custody, transmit, or facilitate any wagers, payments, or transfers between users. All financial settlements between players occur outside the platform. Users are responsible for complying with all laws applicable to private gaming in their jurisdiction. The Service is not intended for use in connection with any commercial gambling operation.
What we never do
- We do not process, hold, or transfer money. Every settlement between players happens away from Hold'em Pitboss, in whatever way your game already handles it.
- We do not deal cards, shuffle, generate random numbers, or decide any outcome. The cards are yours; we record what you tell us happened.
- We take no rake, no commission, and no cut of any pot. The product is free, and nothing about it earns more when more money is in play.
- We do not run, advertise, or connect you to any commercial gambling operation, and the Service is not intended for use with one.
Your responsibilities as a host
Laws covering private home games differ enormously between countries, states, and even counties — including whether a host may charge for a seat, take anything from the pot, or advertise a game at all. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules where you play. Hold'em Pitboss takes no position on whether your game is lawful and offers no legal advice.
Everyone at the table must be at least 18 years old, as required by our Terms of Service.
Playing within your means
A home game should cost about what an evening out costs. Agree the stakes before anyone sits down, set a buy-in people can lose without it mattering, and be plain about whether rebuys are on the table. A host who sets those expectations out loud is doing more for the table than any software can.
Poker stops being a game when someone is chasing losses, borrowing to stay in, hiding what they have lost, or playing to escape something else. If that describes you or someone at your table, step away from the game and talk to someone.
